BISH CREATIVE – PROJECT MANAGER

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Project Manager for Bish Creative, this professional has ownership for all aspects of design, manufacturing, and delivery of displays customized to each client’s needs. Building relationships with the assigned clients (generally 4-6) is critical, as is detailed project management of up to 150 projects per year. The display business is core for Bish, and as such is in a critical position to drive success for the entire company. The Project Manager will be a member of the Director of Acct Mgmt Staff, which meets bi-weekly.

Specific responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

•  Accountable for the profitability of the account by delivering outstanding customer service, presenting ideas for growth, securing efficient pricing, and ensuring on time delivery by utilizing experienced project management skills
• Ensure that orders are properly scoped by the customer, including dimensions, budget, artwork, quantities, and other details in order to instruct Bish Design to render the idea
• Work closely with the Bish Design Team, to ensure the project is designed to the client’s expectations, while also staying within budget
• Obtain vendor quotes for individual projects, secure PO from customer, and initiate orders in a timely manner. An important responsibility of this role is to source your own materials for each of your projects
• Drive collaboration across Customer and Bish Resources thru disciplined use of prescribed communication tools
• Update the Bish or Client website with pictures, pricing, specifications, etc, as new items are added. Also perform basic web-related services as required (password resets, credentials, etc)
• Work closely with Logistics to ensure items are priced competitively, and delivered on-time
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly inventory, sales order, and other reports as needed
• Coordinate semi-annual Customer Business Reviews (CBR’s) with Sales to ensure that joint KPI’s are met, and future strategies outlined
• Exceed annual revenue and margin targets by delivering projects on time and within budget
• Assist with refining the Display process, updating as needed to meet your client’s needs
• Complete projects, and all other duties as assigned

Specific job qualifications include:

• Based upon customer needs the chosen candidate may office at Bish HQs in Lake Zurich, IL, or remotely near the account’s facilities. Frequent face-to-face interaction with the client is often a key to building a strong and enduring business with them
• Strong project management, cost estimating, sales, and team player skills required
• This individual should be a self-starter, able to work independently with minimal direction
• Background in Promotional Merchandise and CPG experience is preferred
• The successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and thrive on change

Experience and education requirements:

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree required
• Experience in Project Management, Account Management and Sales is strongly preferred
• Entrepreneurial spirit, ability to work as an owner of the company, driven by total results
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are needed
• Technically savvy within Excel, Client Websites, NetSuite, MS Teams, Zoom, and Outlook
• Proven ability to build relationships outside, and within, the company

BISH CREATIVE – DESIGNER

Designs interior spaces in new and renovated buildings; meets functional and aesthetic goals; researches and purchases furnishings and fittings; and establishes corporate or individual client base.

Designer Job Duties

• Designs interior spaces, including permanent architectural details and temporary elements
• Assesses and meets client requirements and desires through regular meetings and conferences
• Produces sketches, drawings, and floor plans to illustrate concepts and finished projects using computer-aided design programs (CAD) and hand-drawing skills
• Creates idea boards to communicate design concepts to clients
• Selects design strategies and colour palettes to create cohesive and aesthetically pleasing environments
• Enhances and improves interior spaces’ functionality by modifying architectural elements and arranging furnishings, artwork, and decor
• Creates project budgets, including materials and labor
• Establishes project timelines and coordinates work activity, vendor involvement, and outside contractors as necessary
• Negotiates pricing for materials and labor
• Maintains relationships with vendors and outside contractors, and hires out work as necessary
• Participates in regular networking opportunities and actively develops a client base
• Performs research and maintains a working knowledge of trends and new developments in the interior design and architecture worlds
• Adheres to national and local building and safety codes with every design element
• Reads and interprets blueprints
• Works closely with various colleagues, including architects, artists, contractors, painters, upholsterers, and building inspectors

Designer Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Creativity, Spatial Skills, Attention to Detail, Multitasking, Problem Solving, Decision Making, Teamwork, Mathematics, Budgets, Research, Negotiation, Interpersonal Skills, Written and Verbal Communication, Knowledge of Local Codes.

BISH CREATIVE – PROTOTYPE ENGINEER / MODEL MAKER

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Prototype Engineer / Model Maker, you will part of a highly creative and award-winning design studio. This professional’s top role is to build or modify prototypes from renderings or engineering drawings. Projects will be constructed of wood, metal, acrylic, corrugated, plastics, electronics, or a combination thereof. Associated with this work is the need to create packaging for safe transport, take professional photos, or develop instruction sheets for end use. The merchandising business is fast-paced, so flexibility to respond to short lead-times is critical as priorities change. The Model Maker must work very closely with our Conceptual Designers and Account Managers to bring projects to life. A well-built, professional prototype is many times the difference between getting a large order, or none at all. With the proper background, training, and job performance, career advancement is possible. This includes moves to Senior Model Maker, or Structural Designer. The Model Maker is a member of the VP of Designs staff and will work directly with each individual designer and their projects.

Responsibilities Include:

• CNC Programming and Operation of common shop tools
• Interpret renderings and specs
• Construction and painting of prototypes from a range of materials
• Assemble preproduction samples, such as applying decals, installing electronics, and general assembly
• Inspection and repair of finished displays or in need of modification
• Assembly and safe packaging of display components for shipment to clients
• Photographing display items for portfolio and writing assembly instructions on final production displays
• Complete special projects to stay organized and better process flow
• Train additional Bish employees on the CNC, and other shop equipment
• Keep a quarterly log of equipment maintenance.
• Timely and professional communication with co-workers, and occasionally clients
• Daily clean-up and organization of work area, and all other duties as assigned

Job qualifications include:

• CNC Mill Operation
• Comfortable operating all common shop tools, manual and electric
• Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
• The chosen candidate will work out of Bish offices in Lake Zurich, IL @ 5 days per week. This is not a work-from home position
• Strong mechanical aptitude needed
• Solid written, verbal, communication, and organizational skills are required
• Attention to detail orientation and well-organized which results in high quality fit and finish on prototypes / models
• Willingness to collaborate and work in a team environment
• Able to converse in Excel, Word, Outlook, and NetSuite ERP
• This individual should be a self-starter, able to work independently with minimal direction

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Experience in point-of-purchase is a plus!
• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is preferred
• 3-4 years’ experience in Prototype Development or Model Making
• Experience in Adobe illustrator and EnRoute (or equivalent) is desirable, in order to manipulate die lines and to modify displays
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Entrepreneurial spirit, ability to work as an owner of the company, driven by total results

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $30.00 – $35.00 per hour
